I loved going to carnivals and fairs when I was a kid because it gave me a chance to blow my parent's hard earned cash on rigged games. I loved throwing dull darts at underinflated balloons so I could get that awesomely useless Led Zepplin mirror or that black light poster of the zodiac signs made of people in different sex positions. As I got older I went with my friends and enjoyed cold beer, corn dogs and great concerts like Greg Khin, Eddie & the Tide and Rain. Today I enjoy toting my equipment around searching for a mesmerizing, spinning ride so that I can set up for that great shot. I'm really glad that I'm having a kid so I can get back to enjoying the stupid games. Ironically, a Sort of full circle.
New Mexico State Fair, 2003
The first one was featured on the KASA FOX 2 Friday Photo Contest - It was also my first calendar.
Parking Lot Carnival, 2003
Driving along I-40 through Albuquerque I spotted this carnival and pulled off. I got some great shots here.
